The City of Burnsville invites the public to review the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) regarding the proposed Kramer Mining and Materials Inc. (KMM) 72-acre expansion of its existing quarry located in Burnsville.
The proposed expansion involves two areas located within the site’s property boundaries. The expansion areas were previously utilized by ancillary activities of the operation but are outside the current extraction limits. The KMM quarry has operated since the 1950’s and is currently operating under a Planned Unit Development (PUD) originally issued by the City of Burnsville in 1994 and most recently amended in 2016. The project will require an amendment to the current PUD.
Copies of the EAW – which document the purpose and need for the project, along with the anticipated social, economic and environmental impacts – are currently available for public review during regular business hours at the following locations:
Copies of the EAW are also being distributed to agencies on the current Minnesota EQB Distribution List. Written comments will be accepted through March 4. Comments should be submitted to Gina Aulwes, Consulting Transportation Planner, 100 Civic Center Drive, Burnsville, MN 55337.
The public can also attend an upcoming open house to learn more about the EAW:
