Burnsville's Fire Department has a fire prevention division to provide a safe environment for the residents of Burnsville through plan review of new construction, inspections/code enforcement, fire investigations and public education.

Public education is vital to educating our community on the safety of fire. The Burnsville Fire Department has taken a progressive stance by having a Public Education Committee made up of the Fire Marshal, a Shift Captain, and Firefighters from each shift.
